Identification:  Cattle like animal. The face, mane and tail is black. The neck and flanks have dark vertical stripes.

Habitat: Open bush-veld, especially thorn trees. Prefers short grass plains. Avoids tall grass.

Habits: Herd animal, forms herds of 20-30 animals. Feeds when its cool and rests in the shade when the day gets warmer.
