Identification: Horse-like animal. Black stripes till the bottom of the belly. Lighter shades of black stripes between dark black stripes on the hind quarters.

Habitat: Prefers open bushveld, grassland and floodplains. Avoids dense bush. Very dependent on water.
Habits: Herd animal. The herd normally comprises of a stallion, one or more mares and their offspring. They enjoy rolling around in the dirt.
