Identification: Athletic medium sized game. Red body with a white belly. Black stripes on the tail and hind legs. Tufts of black hair on the ankles of the hind legs. Lyre shaped horns.

Life expectancy: 12 years
Habitat: Open tree areas with ample water. Also known to be in thick bush cover around river areas.
Habits: Herd animals. Normally between 6-20, sometimes even as much as 100 in the winter. Breeding herds and bachelor herds do not mix. In mating season rams will occupy a certain territory, making it with dung heaps and rubbing scent glands on the face against bushes.
