Springbuck

Scientific name:  Antidorcas marsupialis

Identification: Coats depend on the color variant: common, white, black, copper. They body is divided into three color segments- belly, flank and back. Both rams and ewes have horns. 

Mass: 33-48 kg  /  72-90 lbs

Life expectancy: 9 years

Habitat: Open grassland with patches of short grass or scrubs for cover. Tends to stay away from mountainous and densely covered areas.

Habits: Springbuck are gregarious animals, always in a herd. During the lamming season new bachelor herds of rems form. Feed throughout the day, but mostly active during early mornings and late afternoon. Springbuck ‘pronk’ when they flee.
